Casino Cheating on Players

Casino cheating has probably prospered as long as the casinos exist. It is not uncommon to hear stories about how a particular player cheated the casino. Over the decades there have been several players who have successfully cheated the casinos and have managed to make thousands of dollars in the process. However, players are not the only ones who cheat the casinos. Dealers too are known to cheat the casinos occasionally.

Dealers and cheating

Dealers are the employees of casinos and it is their responsibility to ensure that the players stay in line and do not try to cheat the casino in any way. But what if the dealer cheats the casino? It is not uncommon, though in the present times it would be totally impossible to do so. Today there are several security systems and surveillance cameras installed throughout the casinos. There are floor managers and pit bosses who keep an eye on every movement of the players as well as the dealers. Because of this it becomes fairly hard for the dealers or the players to cheat the casino.

However, sometimes this doesn't stop the dealers from trying their luck and they often try to use different techniques for cheating the casinos. Dealers are very well aware of how every game in the casino works. They know the strategies and all the insider tricks. Not only that, but dealers are also well aware of the workings of a casino and know all the loop holes which gives them an edge and they often use it for cheating the casinos. The insufficient tipping casino dealers may provoke the casino employees on cheating.

Cheating methods employed

In the past years one of the most common methods which had been used by the dealers for cheating the casinos had been marking the cards. For this method the dealer would often form a group with a player, mark the cards and introduce them in the deck which is used at the table. These marks would be very small and generally would not be visible to the naked eye. The player would then be able to recognize the value of the card based on the marks at the back of the card and would accordingly make the decisions.

Marking cards is not really possible today since there are very strict rules and policies about the decks used in casinos today. However, dealers generally cheat casinos using another method which is known as second dealing. Dealers usually form an alliance with a player who would come and play at his/her table. The dealer would peek at the top card to check its value and would deal the second from the top card to all the players without getting noticed by the floor manager. The card on the top would be reserved for the player they have an alliance with and would generally be of a high value.

Dealers also cheat using several shuffling techniques and a good dealer would be able to shuffle the cards any way he wants and can deal any card to a player that he wants which makes it easier for him to cheat the casinos. This also may lead to dealer`s shuffle card tricks.
